DESCRIPTION:9 July - 15 July 2022 (Virtual)\n\nHosted by\n\nthe Center for
  High Performance Computing (CHPC) of the Council for Scientific and Indus
 trial Research (CSIR) and funded by the Department of Science and Innovati
 on (DSI).\n\nThe CHPC invites applications from suitably qualified candi
 dates to enter the CHPC Student Cluster Competition. The CHPC Student Clus
 ter Competition gives students at universities across Africa exposure to t
 he High Performance Computing (HPC) Industry.\n\nThe competition is open t
 o all students enrolled in a computer science related undergraduate or pos
 tgraduate degree.\n\nThis application page is open to participants from an
 y institution in Africa or those who wish to only participate in the virtu
 al component of the training: i.e. either you do not wish to travel to the
  University of the Free State to compete in person\, or you do not meet th
 e eligibility requirements. (Please note that only in-person participants 
 will be eligible to compete for a place in the Second Round).\n\nIf you ar
 e applying from an institution from within South Africa and meet the eligi
 bility requirements please use this link Student Cluster Competition: In-P
 erson (Team Selection)\n\nThe competition is designed to impart critical k
 nowledge for building a cluster\, this includes: using Linux systems\, the
  basic software stack of a cluster and cluster design. The competition con
 cludes with an assignment which requires each team to build a prototype cl
 uster in the Cloud.\n\nThe competition will run from Monday 9 July to Satu
 rday 15 July and will be hosted online.\n\nThere are no fees for successfu
