DESCRIPTION:The HPC Ecosystems Project will be hosting the next ...\n\nOpe
 nHPC2.x virtual training lab. \n\nThis FREE training lab is hosted regula
 rly and as a virtual training workshop to gain hands-on experience with de
 ploying a three-node virtual cluster using the OpenHPC2.x software stack.\
 n\nUsing Vagrant and VirtualBox\, the virtual cluster will be deployed on
  participants' own machines and remain available for future development an
 d practice.\n\nAll interaction is facilitated through a virtual classroom\
 , with the learning material provided as an online guide.\n\nThe course ma
 terial is estimated to take 15-20 hours of hands-on time to complete\, wit
 h the course being open for a period of just over two weeks (with three we
 ekends).\n\nPre-Requisites -- it is suggested that participants have exper
 ience and a basic understanding of:\n\n\n	HPC concepts (from a System Admi
 nistrator's perspective):\n	\n		What is HPC\n		Why HPC\n		HPC hardware\n		
 Parallel Computing Concepts\n		Software Compilation\n		Material presented 
 by the CHPC's Student Cluster Competition is sufficient to meet this requi
 rement\, available here: Introduction to HPC for System Administrators.do
 cx\n	\n	\n\n\nThe workshop will concentrate on a guided hands-on OpenHPC 
 deployment that is officially supported by the CHPC's HPC Ecosystems and S
 ADC community.\n\nAt the end of the deployment process\, a fully functiona
 l Management Server will be operational as a VM\, and can be migrated to a
  physical system\, or used as-is to manage a physical HPC cluster\, or to 
 perform future HPC-related training and learning.\n\nContent will be deliv
 ered asynchronously:\n\n\n	OpenHPC 1.3 Training Videos are hosted on YouTu
 be (NOTE: at this stage the OpenHPC2.x videos are not yet available).\n	Co
 llaborative Virtual Classroom environment (Piazza\, EdSTEM or similar) whe
 re all participants will be encouraged to participate collaboratively thro
 ugh the workshop.\n\n\nThe format of the programme is designed to accommod
 ate all partner institutions in any timezone\, with participants of any ex
 perience or background (provided the foundational reference material is re
 viewed in the case of complete newcomers to HPC) with any time availabilit
 y or workload commitments. \n\nYou do not need an operational HPC system 
 to perform this training! Everything is designed to run on your local mach
 ine (desktop or laptop). There are many participants who have successfully
  run the 3-node virtual cluster on their local machines\, but if you exper
 ience resource constraints\, we will do our best to investigate and assist
 .\n\nIn extreme circumstances of low or unreliable internet connectivity\,
  there are mechanisms to perform the lab entirely offline in your own time
 \, although we will unfortunately not be able to facilitate this during th
 e official virtual lab - please contact us for further information and ass
 istance if you are faced with connectivity issues that prevent you from pa
 rticipating fully in the official virtual lab.\n\nPlease note: there is no
