A data management plan (DMP) is a document that describes how you will collect, organise, manage, store, secure, back- up, preserve, and where applicable, share your data. The DMP should be created at the start of a research project so that good practices are established early. The following aspects will be discussed:

Presenter Biography
Isak van der Walt is currently Digital Scholarship Centre & MakerSpace Manager for the Department of Library Services at the University of Pretoria. He forms part of the strategic innovation unit that focuses on implementing projects that are of strategic value and importance for UP and Library Services. Currently Isak is in process of implementing a Digital Scholarship Centre at the University of Pretoria, enabling this new form of scholarly output and discovery for researchers and students. He is also part of the Research Data Management task team, advising on the technical aspects relating to RDM. He is also an active member of NeDICC and often presents workshops and presentations relating to MakerSpaces & Research Data Management.
