The 14th CHPC National Conference.
The recent survey of our users and stakeholders on what form the event could take is now complete and the results are clear: a significant majority chose an online conference taking place on the original dates.
The annual CHPC National Conference will run from Monday to Wednesday, 30 November to 2 December 2020, as a virtual conference, entirely online.
The aim of the conference: to bring together our users so that their work can be communicated, to include world renowned experts, and to offer a rich programme for students, in the fields of high performance computing, big data, and high speed networking. The CHPC National Conference is co-organised by the CHPC, DIRISA and SANReN.
Some of the sub-events of the conference, the workshops, tutorials, BoFs, are not able to take place as usual. If available, these will take place after the conference and will be announced as separate online events/courses.
Please look out for separate announcements for the undergrad student competitions, which may be affected by the changes in the South African academic year.
Theme: Machine Learning and its Applications in HPC
The theme of the 2020 conference is machine learning and how it has paved new roads in scientific research using HPC. More than a simulation of AI, machine learning is now applied to modelling areas of science where traditional mathematical models struggle with the complexity and volume of data.
- The Call for Abstracts for Talks and Micro-Talks closes 31 October 2020.
- Last day for Registration is 2 December 2020
THERE WILL BE NO FEES FOR THE ONLINE CONFERENCE.
