Description
This talk aims to unpack the rising trend of converging technologies in the HPC, Cloud & AI disciplines of emerging hi-tech. At first the speaker will bring to the audiences attention not only the opportunity for new, technology-driven industrial development, but will argue for the business imperative of adopting, expanding and developing internal capabilities around these technologies. Secondly - and through a brief study of recent developments in the field - the talk will guide the audience through an illustrative narrative of “what’s at stake” through the lens of new commercial markets, public services design and delivery, as well as yet-unrealised societal benefits. Finally, the speaker considers the state of the industry in South Africa and the continent at large, asking the audience to participate in assessing the readiness to seize the moment and collectively co-create the next thirty years of service innovation- using as its launchpad the hyper convergence of advanced technologies. The presenter is Mbalenhle Mañana, the founder and managing director of the Motherland Tech.
